At noon on this Monday, January 7, 2008, one of your humble scribes — Herrmann — will participate in a panel at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C., to discuss the Vioxx settlement.
With one small exception, the AEI has lined up an all-star cast. In the words of the program description:
“Speakers include Vanderbilt law professor Richard Nagareda, author of Mass Torts in a World of Settlement; Virginia legal ethics professor George Cohen; author and leading pharmaceutical mass torts defense attorney Mark Herrmann; Andy Birchfield, a member of the Vioxx Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee; and Ted Frank, director of the AEI Legal Center for the Public Interest. AEI resident scholar John E. Calfee will moderate.”
(If I can just catch those other guys in the hallway, maybe I can convince them to start a new law firm: Birchfield, Calfee, Cohen, Frank, Nagareda, and Who’s He?)
If you’re at the event and a regular visitor to this blog, please do introduce yourself.
C-Span will be taping the panel for later broadcast, so, if you can’t participate live, keep an eye on your local TV listings.
