We’d like to alert our readers that, on June 28th, 2010, HB Litigation Conferences is sponsoring its first Mass Torts Judicial Forum, at The Hub in Cira Centre (where we work) right next to the 30th Street train station here in Philly.  Here’s a copy of the conference brochure.
This conference is the brainchild of former New Jersey Mass Tort Judge Marina Corodemus (Ret.), who will moderate the panels.  The conference will feature five sitting and two retired judges.  The sitting judge are:   Hon. Sandra Mazer Moss, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, who is the coordinating judge of that court’s Complex Litigation Center; Hon. Sherry Klein Heitler, New York State Supreme Court in New York City; Hon. David R. Herndon, the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois; Hon. Daniel Stack, Circuit Judge, Madison County (Illinois) Circuit, Court; and Hon. Carol Higbee, Presiding Judge Civil Division, Vicinage 1, Atlantic County (N.J.) Superior Court.  The retired judges are Judge Corodemus, now of Corodemus & Corodemus, Law, Iselin, NJ; and Hon. Richard A. Levie (Ret.), JAMS, Washington, D.C.
The judges will engage in dialogue with a number of nationally recognized attorneys [editor’s note: including Ronni Fuchs of Dechert] on both sides of the “v.” on various hot topics in mass tort litigation, such as expert witness motion practice in consolidated settings, ethical jury behavior in the social media age, working with a special master, and what is and is not working in the current mass tort system.  In addition to the outstanding program, there is a networking reception following the day’s program. Ken Feinberg will provide the keynote address.
If you’re in town, stop by and say “hi.”
